Lillian Kimker Hendry

Savannah- Lillian Kimker Hendry, 94, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Hospice Savannah.

Mrs. Hendry was a native and life long resident of Savannah. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and later attended Armstrong Junior College. Over the years, she worked with Southern Bell and the Chatham County Board of Education. As a life long member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension, she was involved with many aspects and activities of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Kimker, her husband, Iverson Walker "Pete" Hendry, and granddaughter, Heather Ann Hendry.

She is survived by her son, Peter Walker Hendry; brother, John Kimker, Jr., both of Savannah; granddaughter, Michelle Hendry McDonald; great-granddaughters, Amanda Kellam, Kayle Stewart, Rebecca Broad, Anna Kellam, Abbey Hendry, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
